Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 February 2025

Free Bank Statement Converter (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides a document conversion service that transforms bank statement PDFs into spreadsheets. This privacy policy explains what information we process, why we process it, and the choices you can make regarding your data.

Data we process

  • Uploaded documents: PDFs and associated metadata (file name, size, and optional password) are processed strictly to generate the requested output.
  • Generated files: Temporary spreadsheet outputs are streamed back to your browser and are not stored permanently on our servers.
  • Support correspondence: When you contact support, we may store your name, email address, and the information you choose to share so we can respond effectively.
  • Usage analytics: We collect anonymized telemetry such as conversion duration, file type, and error codes to improve reliability. IP addresses are truncated before storage.

How we use your information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the conversion service.
  • Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues.
  • Monitor abuse and secure the infrastructure against fraudulent activity.
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforcement requests, and dispute resolution.

Retention & deletion

Uploaded documents and generated spreadsheets are deleted automatically after the conversion completes or fails. No backups of user documents are kept. Support correspondence is retained for up to 18 months to maintain a service history and is then purged unless we are legally required to keep it longer.

Cookies & tracking technologies

The web application operates without essential cookies. If you consent to advertisements or analytics, third-party partners such as Google AdSense may place cookies to measure ad performance or personalize content. You can opt out of personalized ads via Google’s Ad Settings or by enabling global privacy controls in your browser.

Third-party processors

We rely on carefully vetted sub-processors to deliver the service:

  • Cloud infrastructure: Reputable data centers located in the United States provide compute resources. Access is restricted to authorized engineers.
  • Email provider: Helpdesk emails are managed through a secure ticketing system with encryption in transit and at rest.
  • Analytics: Privacy-centric analytics capture non-identifying usage trends for capacity planning.
  • Advertising partners: Google AdSense may display contextual ads on select pages subject to their own privacy policy and consent mechanisms.

We require each partner to uphold comparable confidentiality and security commitments.

Your rights

If you reside in a region with data protection laws such as the GDPR, LGPD, or CCPA, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We will verify your identity before fulfilling the request.

International transfers

Our servers are currently located in the United States. If you access the service from another country, your information may be transferred to the U.S. We implement appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, when data is moved across borders.

Children’s privacy

The converter is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly process their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Updates to this policy

We may revise this policy when introducing new features or to comply with legal requirements. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
